Follow Your Inner Compass: Making Choices That Empower and Uplift Your Life

We all wish we had a compass to guide us in life, one that clearly shows what’s good and bad. But I’m not just talking about morality—I mean something more personal: knowing what’s truly good or bad for us. It’s about the choices we make and whether they enhance our lives or leave us feeling unfulfilled and drained.

The Impact of Our Choices

Every decision we make teaches us something, but not all of them lead to positive outcomes. Some choices seem right at first but later prove harmful, pulling us away from our inner truth and intuition. When this happens, we may find ourselves doing things that weaken us, drain our energy, and rob us of joy. This often occurs when we ignore that quiet, inner voice guiding us towards what’s best for us.

Trusting Your Inner Compass

I believe each of us has a deep intuition—a kind of inner compass—that helps us discern what’s right and wrong. Some people describe it as the gentle whispers of guardian angels, quietly nudging us in the right direction. Perhaps you see it as the spirits of loved ones who have passed on, like grandmothers offering loving guidance from beyond—or perhaps as your guides, angels, or something entirely different. Whatever resonates with your beliefs - something out there guiding you. However you imagine it, this sense of inner knowing is something I truly believe in.

Why Don’t We Always Listen?

The question is: how can we follow these good, truthful whispers? And perhaps more importantly: why don’t we listen to them? While I don’t have all the answers, I believe there are ways to recognise these whispers and to spot false or harmful guidance early.

When we do trust our inner compass, something beautiful happens. Our decisions bring positive emotions and results. We feel energised, alive, and full of purpose, blooming like flowers reaching for the sun. People are naturally drawn to us—we become radiant, courageous, and inspiring. Our energy becomes contagious, uplifting not only ourselves but those around us.

The Consequences of Straying

But when we stray from our true selves, the opposite occurs. Our energy diminishes, the spark in our eyes fades, and we might even find friends drifting away—or feel disconnected from them ourselves—because something about us seems “off.” Even if others can’t put it into words, they often sense it; we sometimes describe this as someone having “bad vibes.”

When we deceive ourselves or make choices that aren’t aligned with our true nature, we lose touch with positive power and genuine empowerment. We step away from the energy that uplifts and strengthens us, leaving ourselves entangled in negative emotions. And honestly, nothing good comes from that.

A Story About Following the Right Path

Some time ago, I wrote a story about two souls. One soul followed the path of inner intuition, cherishing life and uplifting the beings around her. The other soul, disconnected from her inner truth, left everything around her weak, withering, and fading into dullness and grey.

If you’d like to hear it, I’ve shared a link below. You can download the story as a PDF or listen to the audio version.

Thank you, and take care!
